I have just read Psalm 136 again.
The Contemporary English version says:
verse 1:
"Praise the Lord! He is good. God's love never fails."
The 1933 King James says:
"Give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth
forever."
The New King James version says:
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy
endures forever."
The Amplified Bible says:
"O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-
kindness endure forever."
It does not matter how we translate it - the meaning, and the character of God, remain unchanged! Stop and think about that!
Thank You, Lord, for your love and mercy, Your grace towards mankind and your loving-kindness from day to day. Amid all the chaos that surrounds us, what would our planet be without You?
